The Primo Viaggio Convertible Kinetic is designed to accompany a child from infancy through toddlerhood, with the ability to convert from a rear-facing to a forward-facing car seat. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children remain rear-facing until they reach their second birthday, or they reach the maximum height or weight for their seat. The Primo Viaggio Convertible Kinetic allows for rear facing seating for children up to 45 pounds, as long as the child's head is at least 1" below the headrest edge. For forward-facing seating, it is suitable for children between 22 and 65 pounds.

The car seat features an adjustable Side Impact Protection (SIP) that can be set to 10 different height positions, even with the child in the seat. The Kinetic pods help to move forces away from the baby in the event of a side collision, and the energy-absorbing foam, EPS, in the shell and EPP in the head panel protect the child's body from impact forces.

The Anti-Rebound bar minimizes forces and reduces rotation in the event of a front or rear collision, offering additional protection for the baby. It is integrated and stowable, and the ARB spacer allows for extended rear-facing use by increasing the child's leg room by 2 inches.
